Did you know 60% of Americas youth will not pick up a book to read till the age of 12? Or that some will not till they are told to do so by their literature school teacher? bananas huh? not that kids now a days have the option to do so.. my little cousins rather sit on the Wii all day or find some sort of Wifi on their pods and players to watch YouTube.. you can't blame them though, it's just the way things are... sort of. Things are made easy now, man. you can have a full course meal in less than 15 minutes in a microwave! They even have minute made rice or those frozen-pop-in-the-microwave-done-in-5-minutes veggies!
not the veggies!
I can't talk, I'm a xbox user and a itouch user, but I do like to get out, time is short! got to live this life or regret not doing a damn thing. So simple stuff, like going to those markets or comic book stores, or even a few rounds of miniature golf.. i'll do it. I mostly like board-part stores or playing the piano, maybe on a drum set (the years have me n00b on them) And a good book too (though I haven't finished Jane Eyre, yet!) I'm into sci-fi and life changing.. story-telling books. Last book I finished was The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas, good book.
So yeah, for 2009 lets place a book in front of the kids or hook them up to something that is totally different from anything they've ever played in a video game or seen on YOUHELLTUBE..
Happy New Years
peca, peca peace!!
